Meet The Club Officers

GREG LINTON – PRESIDENT

Ducati Official Club Detroit - President Greg Linton

Greg Linton has been riding motorcycles for two decades and began his dalliance with Ducati when he purchased a gently used 2003 Monster M800ie in the mid aughts. That experience made him a convert to the style, sounds and performance of the L-twin bikes. Since then he has had the pleasure of owning a string of Ducati superbikes, all of which saw a fair bit of track time, a pair of Multistradas and a 900SS FE. The current Bologna steed is a 2020 Supersport S.

Greg’s passion for things two wheeled extends to watching the MotoGP “aliens” do their thing on track, exploring dirt roads on his KTM 1090R, grinding a bit of gravel on his Jamis Renegade and plowing along snow-packed trails on a Salsa Mukluk fatbike. He is an active member of MSTR. Greg and his wife Lee live in Novi with their mild-mannered pitbull labrador mix, Tess. They are also proud parents of three adult children who, so far, remain Michiganders.

A graduate of DePauw University in Indiana, Greg spent five years studying, working and traveling in Japan after graduation. Ironically, it was during this stint abroad that his fascination with motorcycles was kindled. Since returning to the US in 1989, he has been selling processed steel and aluminum to automotive parts manufacturers and OEMs and is currently a Division Vice President for a Japanese-based metal distribution company.

ANDRE GARDINALLI – VICE PRESIDENT

Moving from Brazil to Michigan in 2016, on a typical mid-life crisis, he decided to take the Motorcycle Safety Course at the Washtenaw Community College and bought his first bike, a 2014 Suzuki C50 BOSS. Andre was always in love with Ducati since he saw the Monster when young and when looking for his second bike he had no doubt that it was going to be one.  In 2019 he became the owner of a 2018 XDiavel and joined the Detroit Desmo Owners Club becoming a board member in 2021.

Andre lives in Saline and enjoys riding the Michigan back roads. He has an electrical engineering degree and works for Lenovo in High Performance Computing sales covering the US Central region.

He currently rides a 2020 Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro and has previously owned other Ducati models including a 2000 ST4, a 2008 1098S, and a 2013 Multistrada Gran Tourismo and 2015 Multistrada 1200s. He also still owns and rides his first motorcycle, a 1973 Triumph Daytona T100R.  David enjoys sport touring riding and also participates in track days. He is also an active member of the Michigan Sport Touring Riders (MSTR) and the AMA.

OSAMAH EL-AROUD – TREASURY

Osamah started riding in high school on the streets of Tripoli, Libya on a Soviet made 125cc 2 stroke Minsk. Growing up across the Mediterranean from Italy though, it was impossible to escape the influence. The Tripoli police rode Guzzis and sport bike enthusiasts imported Aprilias but nothing matched the design, character or performance of Ducati. So after a hiatus of 20 years and a year after getting back in the saddle, he bought his first Ducati. A 2011 Monster 796 which helped him understand the allure of the brand. He has since owned a 2014 Monster 1200S and now rides a 2018 Supersport S. Osamah joined the DDOC in 2018 and became a board member in 2021.

He lives with his wife Krissy on Lake Columbia in Brooklyn, MI and enjoys riding the back roads of the Irish Hills as well as cruising around the lake in the summer months. Osamah received his medical degree from The University of Tripoli and was in clinical practice for 10 years before transitioning to an administrative role. He currently works as a medical director at Anthem

TIM LARANGE – MEDIA AND CONTENT CREATION

Tim Larange has had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. This was originally fueled when his parents retrofitted a baby seat meant for a bicycle on his father’s Yamaha 360 Enduro. His first Ducati was a poster of a 1994 Ducati Monster M900, but he only realized his dream of owning a motorcycle after graduating high school in 2000.

Tim started out, with advice from a fellow rider, purchasing and riding a 2001 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100. He has since owned several other motorcycles including a 2005 Suzuki GSXR, a 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa, 2008 Harley Davidson Nightrod, and a 2010 Harley Davidson Streetglide.

Tim found his way to Ducati, when a coworker asked him about his childhood dream motorcycle. Realizing it was the Ducati Monster and 25 years later he still hadn’t owned one, he went online shopping that day, in December 2019, and the next day drove to Ohio to pick up a 2012 Ducati Monster EVO 1100. Shortly after he joined the DOCD. In early 2022, he also purchased a 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak.

Tim currently lives in Ortonville, MI. He holds an MBA from Cleary University, and several other degrees in Business and Automotive Technology from Ferris State, and Mott Community College. Since 2005, he has been working for a Japanese-based automotive parts manufacturer, and is currently a Materials Manager.

HOUTAN NOUSHMEHR – SECRETARY

Houtan Noushmehr’s interest in motorcycles started when he was introduced to a dirt bike as a 10 year old. Fast forward to his early 20s when he saw his friends riding a Ducati. He quickly fell in love with the sound and look of the Ducati. Since then, he has always wanted to ride a motorcycle and it had to be a Ducati. At the age of 38, Houtan got his chance when he purchased his first motorcycle, a brand new Ducati Monster 796 2013 while living in São Paulo, Brazil. He enjoyed taking his Monster out on country road twisties with his fellow Desmo Owners of São Paulo. One day, he had an exciting opportunity to take a long road trip (>500km) to Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais, Brazil (a historic colonial city) and this solidified his excitement with Ducati.

It took Houtan nearly 7 years after moving back to the States to own his next Ducati, a 2023 Diavel 1260S (Black/Red). He also owns a 2023 Panigale V4S which he takes out during track days with his fellow Desmo Owners of Detroit. Houtan enjoys adding modifications to his motorcycles to extend its appeal and enhance its performance. Houtan joined DOCD in 2022 and is now a board member.

He lives with his wife in Bloomfield Township, Michigan and enjoys trips up north with his wife and daughter as much as possible during the riding season. Houtan is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and received his PhD in genetics and molecular biology from University of Southern California (USC). Currently, Houtan runs a translational research laboratory at Henry Ford Hospital to identify cancer biomarkers to help diagnose, monitor and treat brain cancer.
