2026 DesertX (937cc model only)

For Sale: 2026 Ducati DesertX V2

The 2026 Ducati DesertX V2 is the second generation of Ducati’s purpose-built adventure motorcycle, completely redesigned around the new 890cc Ducati V2 engine and aluminum monocoque chassis. Lighter, more compact, and developed with an even stronger focus on off-road performance, the new DesertX combines Ducati’s road-going performance with a chassis and electronics package designed specifically for serious adventure riding.

New 890cc Ducati V2

The DesertX V2 is powered by Ducati’s new 890cc 90-degree V2, featuring intake variable valve timing and liquid cooling. The engine produces 110.3 hp at 9,000 rpm and 68 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm, with 70% of peak torque available from just 3,000 rpm. That broad, accessible torque delivery is particularly useful off-road, where predictable throttle response and low-rpm drive are critical.

The transmission is specifically geared for the DesertX, with shorter lower gears for technical terrain and a taller sixth gear for more relaxed highway riding. Ducati Quick Shift DQS 2.0 up/down is standard.

Dedicated Off-Road Chassis

The new DesertX uses a cast aluminum monocoque chassis designed specifically around the V2 engine, with the engine serving as a structural component. A dedicated steel trellis subframe and new progressive rear suspension linkage complete the chassis. Ducati also revised the steering geometry and chassis balance to make the bike more neutral and intuitive when riding off-road.

KYB Long-Travel Suspension

The DesertX V2 comes equipped with fully adjustable KYB suspension:

  • 46mm fully adjustable KYB inverted fork
  • 230mm front wheel travel
  • Fully adjustable KYB rear shock
  • Remote rear preload adjustment
  • Progressive linkage
  • 220mm rear wheel travel

The suspension is designed around the demands of off-road riding while retaining the ability to handle pavement and longer adventure-touring miles.

21″/18″ Tubeless Spoked Wheels

The traditional adventure-bike 21-inch front / 18-inch rear combination gives the DesertX V2 the wheel configuration needed for serious off-road use.

  • 21″ front / 18″ rear
  • Cross-spoked, tubeless wheels
  • Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires
  • 230mm front / 220mm rear suspension travel

Brembo Braking System

The DesertX V2 is equipped with Brembo radial-mount braking hardware, including dual 305mm front discs and four-piston radial-mount calipers, paired with Bosch Cornering ABS. A 265mm rear disc with Brembo two-piston caliper handles braking duties at the rear.

Advanced Electronics

A 6-axis IMU provides the foundation for the DesertX V2’s comprehensive electronics package. The bike features:

  • Riding Modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro and Rally
  • Power Modes
  • Ducati Traction Control
  • Ducati Wheelie Control
  • Engine Brake Control
  • Cornering ABS
  • Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 up/down
  • Ducati Brake Light EVO
  • Cruise control
  • Full LED lighting
  • Dynamic turn indicators
  • Self-canceling turn signals

The dedicated Enduro and Rally riding modes allow the electronics to be configured specifically for off-road riding, while the road-oriented modes make the DesertX equally comfortable for commuting and longer pavement sections.

New Rider Interface

The new DesertX V2 features a 5-inch full-color TFT display with a horizontal layout designed around off-road visibility. A utility bar is integrated above the dash, leaving additional space for navigation equipment and making it easier to see the trail immediately ahead when standing on the pegs.

Adventure-Focused Design

Ducati redesigned the DesertX around function rather than simply updating the previous generation. The new 4.8-gallon fuel tank is narrower between the rider’s legs, allowing more freedom of movement while standing or shifting around on the bike. Integrated crash pads help protect the motorcycle during low-speed falls, while replaceable tank covers make damage easier and less expensive to repair.

The bike also incorporates a new air-filter position that makes cleaning and maintenance easier—an important consideration for a motorcycle intended to spend time in dust, dirt and mud.
